Substitution of Critical Raw Materials on Aluminium Alloys for electrical vehicles

The SALEMA project is a combined strategy of decreasing the critical raw material dependency (from magnesium and silicon) and creating a sustainable economy in the aluminium manufacturing industry of Europe.

SALEMA implements a circular economy model to reintegrate scrap aluminium materials into the primary aluminium manufacturing process of car parts.

The SALIENT project focuses on future-proof light vehicle designs, which have an increased compatibility with mixed traffic and are better prepared for crashes and collisions. This European project aims at developing novel concepts for safer, lighter, circular and smarter vehicle structure design for enhanced crashworthiness and higher compatibility.


Flexible and hybrid manufacturing of green aluminium to produce tailored adaptive crash-tolerant structures

The Flexcrash project is developing a flexible and hybrid manufacturing technology using green aluminium alloys and based on applying surface patterns by additive manufacturing onto performed parts with the objective to enhance weight reduction and crash resistance, as well as to improve passenger safety.
