Fatigue4Light project takes part in the International Colloquium on Mechanical Fatigue of Metals
Fatigue4Light project has been represented during the 20th International Colloquium on Mechanical Fatigue of Metals, an international forum aimed at facilitating and encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the different communities involved in fatigue of metals field, which has been celebrated virtually from September 15th – 17th.
Davide Salvatore Paolino and Andrea Tridello, from the Politecnico di Torino, participated in the Session V organised within the Colloquium and presented the work titled “Probabilistic-S-N Curves: Likelihood Ratio Confidence Intervals and Design Curves”.
The presented research activity is based on Fatigue4Light work and introduces concepts such as the modelling of the fatigue response in the Low Cycle Fatigue – Very High Cycle Fatigue life range and the estimation of the Likelihood Ratio Confidence Intervals of the quantiles of the Probabilistic-S-N curves.
Additionally, they took this opportunity to introduce Fatigue4Light as a key European project working on the development of new tests and computer simulation methods to better estimate the fatigue life of chassis components and to select the optimal materials for lighter vehicle chassis.
The Politecnico di Torino is a Research University focused on the balanced development of fundamental and applied research, which is contributing to the project with advanced statistical methods to analyse fatigue data.
