Presentation of Fatigue4Light during the SALEMA webinar on aluminium for lightweight and sustainable mobility
Project partners from CIMNE, the Fatigue4Light coordinator, participated in the webinar “The Circular Metal for Future Mobility: aluminium for lightweight and sustainability”, organised by the SALEMA project on Friday 6th of October, 2023.
During the session “Exploring other relevant EU projects”, Lucia Barbu, project’s coordinator and assistant professor at CIMNE, delivered the presentation “Aluminium innovation for EV chassis components: hybrid solutions developed in the Fatigue4Light project”.
The presentation included a general overview of Fatigue4Light and its partners, as well as an explanation of the project phases, the main research done, the new lightweight materials for Electric Vehicles’ chassis parts developed and some of the main results achieved in the material, lab-scale and industrial demo.
In addition, the webinar included the participation of representatives from the International Magnesium Association and the European Aluminium, together with other European projects such as FLEXCRASH and FLAMINGo.
The SALEMA project, coordinated by Eurecat, produces novel aluminium alloys with minimalised critical raw material content with the objective to implement a circular economy model to reintegrate scrap aluminium materials into the primary aluminium manufacturing process of car parts.
