Fatigue4Light project presented in the International Conference on Steels in Cars and Trucks
The Fatigue4Light project was presented during the 6th International Conference on Steels in Cars and Trucks (SCT2022) celebrated from 19th – 23rd of June in Milan (Italy). Project partners from MW, ArcelorMittal and Eurecat participated in the event.
During the conference, project partners from MW – Gruppo CLN delivered the presentation “Fatigue life of cold formed steel wheels: an experimental study”, which introduced some work done and advances achieved within the Fatigue4Light project.
The presentation also included some slides explaining how steel wheels are getting momentum in electric vehicles for better aerodynamics, better weights, lower costs and lower CO2 footprint compared to alloy. Additionally, partners explained the difficult to innovate a stable and safety component, as well as the Fatigue4Light project’s ambition to innovate this difficult component through new grades, simulation, stamping technologies and surface treatments.
The International Conference on Steels in Cars and Trucks brought together more than 300 international guests from the industrial sector as well as scientists and researchers working in related disciplines such as the automotive industry with passenger cars, trucks and busses and the suppliers and steel industries.
