Presentation of a Fatigue4Light research-poster in the International Conference on Advanced Materials Research (EEIGM)
Fatigue4Light partners from Eurecat presented the poster “Fatigue resistance evaluation of high-strength steels through a new method based on stiffness evolution”, during the 11th International Conference on Advanced Materials Research (EEIGM) celebrated from 16th – 17th of June in Barcelona, Spain.
Sergi Parareda and Marc Mares, researchers at the Metallic and Ceramic Materials Unit of Eurecat, and Antonio Mateo from CIEFMA-UPC presented the Fatigue4Light poster, which introduces a new test developed within the project. The application of this innovative fatigue test method is based on continuum damage mechanics (CDM) used in this work providing the industry with a fast, cheap and easy to use method to accurately determine the fatigue endurance of different steels and conditions for a better material selection in terms of fatigue.
The conference was organised by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and was focused in providing a forum for exchange of ideas and future collaborations in all topics related to Materials Science and Engineering.
The event’s programme included different sessions and presentations delivered from scientists and students from the 7 European universities involved in the EEIGM and AMASE programmes: the University of Lorraine, the University of Saarlandes, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), the Technology University of Luleå, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the National University of Science and Technology (MISIS) and the University Libre of Brussels.
