Fatigue4Light project takes part in the Mediterranean Conference on Fracture and Structural Integrity
Project partners from the Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) participated in the 2nd Mediterranean Conference on Fracture and Structural Integrity (MedFract2) celebrated face-to-face from 14th – 16th of February in Catania, Italy.
During the event, partners presented the Fatigue4Light project with special emphasis in the aspects related to statistical modelling of the fatigue response. The main objectives of this work are to propose a model for the stress-life relationship from the LCF to VHCF life range. Starting from this model, within the project partners from POLITO proposed a procedure for the estimation of the Confidence Interval for the quantile of the fatigue life through the Likelihood Ratio Confidence Interval, permitting for the assessment of the design curves.
The event was a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss about a huge variety of topics such as analytical, computational and physical models, ceramics fracture and damage, composites, computational mechanics, damage and fracture in materials, fatigue of metals, very high cycle and failure analysis, among others.
The MedFract2 Conference was organised by the Algerian Group of Fracture Mechanics and Energy (AGFME), the Greek Society of Experimental Mechanics of Materials (GSEMM), the Italian Group of Fracture (IGF) and the Sociedad Española de Integridad Estructural–Grupo Espanol de Fractura (SEIE-GEF).
